Juniors

Ballina Triathlon Club is committed to help grow grass roots triathletes and encourages and supports kids of all ages and abilities to give Triathlon a go.

Juniors are classified as anybody under the age of 19 as of the 31st December within that particular membership year.

The Junior “Teens” program focuses on preparing the athletes to race multisport events in a safe and friendly club environment.

  • Juniors (13-19) may race along-side the adults duringclub races>/li>
  • Juniors (12-19) may race the Enticer distance event, whilst
  • Juniors (13-19) may race the Sprint distance event and
  • Juniors (14-19) may race the Club distance event

The Junior “Kids” program focuses on participation and the fun aspects of the sport of triathlon and teaches kids about multisports in a safe and friendly club environment.

Note: The new Race Competition Rules list certain restrictions for 14 years and younger children competing in the bike leg. These restrictions include TT bikes, teardrop helmets, aero bars etc, and are designed to encourage safe competition for kids at an affordable price. Ballina Triathlon Club will enforce these restrictions from the 2015/16 season for all Juniors participating in Club events.
